TRAVEL TIPS AND PACKING IDEAS

A few tidbits

Where are you headed? Sunny and tropical, cool and rainy, or cold climate. That will determine your "what" to pack for clothing.

Packing: Do packing cubes save space? We have used them for several years, and it's not just about saving space. They also save time when unpacking while on vacation. Pack them by clothing category, and when you arrive at your destination, place the entire packing cube in the drawers.   (It makes repacking easier, too).

Dirty Clothes: Do you need a collapsible hamper? They are great. Most hotels, resorts, and ships have laundry bags available, just pack your dirty clothes in the laundry bags, and pack them back in the suitcase at the end of your trip.

Identification: If you are flying domestically, remember you will need either a Real ID, a passport booklet, or a passport card. If you are traveling internationally, it is always recommended to make a copy of your passport and leave it with family in the unlikely event your passport is lost or stolen. You should make an extra copy to carry on your person as well.

TSA: Reminder that the TSA no longer requires you to remove your shoes when going through the security checkpoint. The 3-1-1 rule is still in effect. Each container of liquid, gel, or aerosol must be 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or smaller. All containers must fit in a quart-sized bag, and each passenger is allowed one quart-sized bag.

Check with your airline to see what they allow for carry-on and personal items.
